Salon owner has close shave

A hairdresser turned the shaver on himself to raise money for Comic Relief.

Mark Mardell, 40, owner of Mardell’s salon in the Priory shopping centre, had his head shaved in front of staff and customers on Monday.

The salon raised more than £600 for the charity.

The 40-year-old also had his chest and his back waxed and said his body was stinging more than three hours after the event.

He said: "I’m wouldn’t recommend it I think I’d rather climb Mount Everest.
