Fire at Woodlands Banqueting Suite, in Hilda May Avenue, Swanley

Police are hunting an arsonist after a third fire at an abandoned wedding venue in less than two years.

Three crews were sent to Woodlands Banqueting Suite, in Hilda May Avenue, Swanley, after a blaze broke out at 11am on Monday morning.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the two-storey building and extinguished flames.

The blaze broke out in the loft space and the fire service has now confirmed it is believed it was started deliberately.

No one was injured.

A year ago a fire took hold in the foyer, while the previous November five crews were called after flames engulfed the loft.

The cause of both blazes were at first unclear but police have been approached for more information.
