Tributes to Dartford victim after fatal crash

Floral tributes have been left at the scene where a man died after a collision with a lorry.

The 44-year-old man from Dartford was pronounced dead following the crash on the A228 Ashton Way near West Malling just after 8am on Wednesday April 25.

The incident happened on a pedestrian crossing next to the access road for West Malling railway station, and flowers have since been left at the site along with written tributes.

"Dearest Jason, Goodbyes hurt the most when the story was not yet finished," said one. "You will forever be in our hearts and in our memories. Gone from sight but never forgotten. Rest in peace."

Another added: "Jason, taken from us too soon. You will be missed by so many but always in our thoughts."

The driver of the lorry, a 67-year-old man from West Malling, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and has been released pending further investigation.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
