Woman killed in road collision

A man has been arrested and bailed after a 51-year-old Dartford woman died in a road collision.

The accident happened close to McDonald's in Cobham Terrace, Greenhithe, at 7.25am on Wednesday.

Floral tributes have been placed close to the restaurant car park.

A 23-year-old man from Essex was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been bailed until September 20.

PC Glen Braidwood, who is leading the investigation said their enquiries suggested the man was reversing the van along the road, near to the fast food restaurant. He said the woman suffered head injuries and died at the scene.

"We would like to speak with anyone that may have seen the collision, or events leading up to the incident, as they could help us with our investigation," said Pc Braidwood.
