Woman taken to hospital with multiple injuries following assault in Dartford

A woman is in hospital in a serious condition after being attacked.

Officers and paramedics were called to a house in Heath Street, Dartford on Saturday afternoon where the victim was suffering from a serious head injury.

She was given medical treatment at the scene and taken to hospital where she remains with other injuries to her spine and chest.

An investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate led to the arrest of a man at a property in Greenwich at around 2.30am on Sunday.

The suspect is said to be known to the victim.

Sebastian Birzu, 23, of Heath Street, Dartford was later charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court today where he was remanded in custody.

His next hearing will be at Woolwich Crown Court on Tuesday, April 19.
