Woman trapped as car overturns

A DRIVER ran-off after his car overturned, leaving his trapped passenger inside the vehicle.

According to emergency services the driver, understood to be male, ran from the scene after the car flipped on the M25, trapping his female passenger.

Firefighters from Dartford fire station called to the crash on Monday at 1pm, used special air bags to raise the car and free the woman who was taken to hospital.

Police also attended the scene and a police helicopter is also understood to have been used in the emergency operation and search for the man.

The incident took place on the clockwise section of the M25 between junctions four and five and road closures led to a number of delays on the motorway.
