On-loan left-back Jay McEveley could have played his last game for Charlton after suffering a serious shoulder injury 14 minutes into Tuesday's 2-1 home defeat by Coventry.

McEveley, signed on loan from Derby County, looks set to return to Pride Park for treatment after three appearances.

Caretaker manager Phil Parkinson confirmed: "He's dislocated it and early reports suggest a fracture as well.

"It's not looking good and it's a big blow for us because we missed his drive and commitment.

"He wanted to go back on but it was out of the question."

Kelly Youga, who made way for McEveley's arrival, looks set for a recall against Derby County in Monday's televised home game.

Parkinson confirmed that a decision would be made at the weekend concerning central defender Linvoy Primus's loan from Portsmouth which expires on Saturday.

Young striker Martyn Waghorn's loan from Sunderland ends on Monday.
