Dartford boss Tony Burman admits making the Ryman League Premier Division play-offs will be a tall order but isn’t giving up on them just yet.

Only four points out of 18 in March has left Dartford on the fringes of the race, but with Staines and Tonbridge looking sure of two spots, Darts are still one of as many as eight teams chasing the two other play-off places.

Burman said: “Before last Saturday I think our fate was in our own hands, but now we are also relying on other results, and it will be a tall order.

“It was a cracking game (against Tonbridge) between two very good sides, and having got back to 2-2 early in the second half, we should have gone on to win the game because we had enough chances.

“The boys weren’t disappointed at the end because we knew we had played very well, and I hope we can gain confidence after coming from behind to draw against Harlow and Tonbridge.

“We have six games left, three home and three away, and I always said April will be a key month.

“It’s now up to the whole club to pull together and give it our best shot.”

Dartford face another of the chasing pack, Sutton, at Gander Green Lane on Saturday.

Jamie Day is ruled out this weekend as he starts a two-match ban, and Lee Noble is still sidelined by hamstring trouble.

However Burman hopes that Ryan Hayes (hamstring), Rob Haworth (calf), and James White (ankle) could be fit for the game.
