Agents have been frustrating Dartford manager Tony Burman in his attempts to sign a new centre-forward.

The loan window opened this week and Burman has resumed talks with players he wants to bring to Princes Park.

He has been chasing one Football League striker since before Christmas but still a deal has not been finalised.

Burman said: "I’m still looking to bring some players in but agents are asking them to wait for League clubs. I have to be patient until someone says ‘yes’ to me.

"Agents want to do the best for their players. But if the best thing is telling them League clubs are in for them and six weeks down the line, they still haven’t moved, that has to be questioned."

Burman’s forward line has at least been bolstered by the return to fitness of Andy Pugh.

Having torn a testicle in the 2-1 win over Welling on November 11, Pugh is now back in the matchday squad and he scored in Dartford’s 3-1 defeat to FC Halifax in the FA Trophy last Saturday.

Burman said: "That is a positive. It’s like signing a new striker.

"Pughy’s starting to look fit and he’s keeping up in training. We’re bringing him in gradually and he looks sharp.

"He’s here in the day with the academy and that’s helped to get him back quicker."
