Charlton manager Alan Pardew has admitted for the first time that midfielder Amdy Faye's future lies away from The Valley.

The 31-year-old Senegal international, who cost £2m when former manager Iain Dowie signed him from Newcastle in August, 2006, returned to the club in the close-season having spent much of last season on loan with Glasgow Rangers.

"Amdy Faye's future lies elsewhere," said Pardew.

"But if he doesn't move before this transfer window closes then we'll try and use him the best we can."
