Oxjam storms its way into Deal on Friday when musicians take to the stage at Castle Community College as part of the nationwide fundraiser.

It is part of the Oxfam money making Local Music Global Impact event and takes place at the Mill Road school, with tickets available to staff and pupils only.

Maria Harrington, from the performing arts department, said: “They cost £1 and must be bought in advance from the school office.

“There will be a main stage featuring students and local musicians, including Coco and the Butterfields, Cocos Lovers, Jack Bowden and many more. This music festival marks the end of charities week at school as well as the end of term one.

“Sixth form music students have been organising the event and they have been busy preparing for the day as well as rehearsing with their band Room 20. Local lads Independance who attend the school will also be performing.

“It will be a great afternoon and an opportunity for the students to experience a music festival atmosphere at the same time as raising money for a worthwhile cause.”

* To support the event donations can be made by text using Castle Community College’s unique event code: JAM2495 to 70066 to donate £3.For more information on OXJAM visit www.oxfam.org.uk/oxjam
