Solley's Ice Cream in Ripple is looking for super scoopers to operate its fleet this summer

An ice cream firm is looking for people to help sell its sweet treats at food festivals and events this year.

Family-run Solley’s, based in Ripple, just outside of Deal, is looking to take on staff to operate its fleet of vintage vehicles around the county.

Keith Morrison, Solley’s director, said: “There’s nothing we love more than rolling up to events such as the Kent County Show in one of our classic 1970s ice cream vans, or being hired to distribute bespoke ice cream to wedding guests.

“However, we’ve become so busy with new orders that we haven’t been able to attend all the events we’ve been invited to, so we’re looking for a team to take on the challenge.

“Our ideal scooper will be passionate about Kentish food, hard-working and willing to learn, good with people, and – most importantly – must be willing to help us with the extremely important job of ice cream tasting!

“We’re a close-knit, family company and we’re proud to provide jobs for local people, so we’re keen to hear from applicants of all ages and backgrounds.”

Last year it celebrated its 30th anniversary in business and prides itself on sourcing 85% of its ingredients in Kent.
