Police arrest teenage girl following reports she used fake notes in shops in Deal

A teenage girl was arrested last night in Deal after reports she used counterfeit notes to make purchases in the town's shops.

At around 5.30pm on Wednesday, a PCSO intervened with the 17-year-old following reports she had used fake £20 notes.

Two police cars were at the scene in Queen Street and the teenager was arrested and questioned.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "She was subsequently arrested and questioned and released on bail until October 31 while officers make further enquiries."
