Dover turned on the style to hammer bottom side St Albans in Saturday's Blue Square South clash.

Martin Hayes' side recorded their second away win on the bounce to keep up with the promotion play-off contenders. Goal machine Adam Birchall set the Whites on their way after just five minutes thanks to Donovan Simmonds' through ball.

Simmonds then found himself on the scoresheet just two minutes later as he easily beat St Albans keeper Paul Bastock from the edge of the area with a well-placed shot. Lewwis Spence stretched the lead even further just before half time after good work from Simmonds and Tom Wynter.

Dover continued where they had left off after the break when Rob Gillman was presented with an easy finish to make it 4-0 on 46 minutes. Gillman tapped home after Luke I'Anson had seen his original effort from a corner blocked on the line.

Barry Cogan made it 5-0 just after the hour mark, waltzing past three players to shoot into the bottom corner.

The home side eventually had a goal to show for their efforts two minutes from time. Aidy Chaves' volley in the penalty box deflected off I'Anson and past keeper Ross Flitney.

Dover lie just outside the play-off places in sixth, four points behind Welling with a game in hand.
