All eyes will be on Dover during the next few days as television presenter Christine Bleakley makes final preparations for her attempt to water-ski across the English Channel.

She had been due to set off from Dover Harbour on Wednesday March 10, but the attempt was delayed for at least 24 hours.

Viewers of the popular BBC 1 television programme The One Show, which Christine presents with Adrian Chiles, have been following her exploits as she prepares for the crossing in aid of Sport Relief. She hopes to raise thousands of pounds for the charity.

Trained by Professor Greg Whyte, who also trained David Walliams for his Channel swim, Christine has already made one visit to Dover to see the conditions for herself, travelling across to Calais by ferry.

The night before the ski attempt takes place, The One Show is due to be broadcast from the Sea Sports Centre on Dover seafront.
