We need to get back on a run, says Dover Athletic boss Martin Hayes

Dover manager Martin Hayes is plotting a route back into the play-off race after bouncing back with a win on Monday night.

A 2-0 win over Eastleigh has revived hopes of making the play-offs, after a three-game losing run, and Hayes takes his side to bottom side St Albans this week.

Hayes (pictured) said: "We need to get back on a run now and put the pressure on those teams above us."

Over the next four weekends Hayes’ side face teams in and around the relegation places.

In between those four games they are expected to travel to second-placed Chelmsford in a rearranged fixture after Saturday’s original fixture was postponed with a waterlogged pitch.

Hayes said: "We knew we had that tough period in the middle of the season and we’ve played most of the top teams.

"In those games the results are decided on just small margins. We’ve won three and lost four. We’ve come out of those big games now and on paper we should be beating the teams who we are facing in the next few games.

"We know we are in touching distance and we’ve got a chance."

Olly Schulz (hamstring) and Sam Long (groin) miss out at the weekend but Sam Cutler is expected to be added to the squad after recovering from a knee injury.
