Two Deal fighters both won four medals apiece in the European Taekwondo Championships in Sardinia.

Jenny Hutchison, 21, and 17-year-old Rhianne O’Neill were making their competitive debuts for the Master Wolf Taekwondo Academy after joining the Thanet-based club three months ago.

In the individual events Jenny, from Tormore Park, battled her way through to the semi-finals of the 52kg category before losing to a Dutch competitor, thus winning a bronze medal. She also won team gold medals in the sparring, power and special technique categories.

Rhianne, from Freemans Way, picked up a gold medal in the individual power category and silver in the special technique.

And Rhianne, also won a team power gold and a silver in special technique.
