KENT'S Karen Stupples tees off in the first round of the Weetabix Women’s British Open at Sunningdale today having risen into the top 30 in the world rankings.

Stupples now stands 26th on the world list following her excellent performance in the Evian Masters in France at the weekend.

The Deal 31-year-old collected a cheque for £77,500 after finishing fourth, three shots behind Australian Wendy Doolan, with a 15-under-par total of 273.

Stupples led after the first two rounds but a bogey at the penultimate hole on Saturday damaged her chances of a top-three finish.

She said: “There will be more pressure on me this week, but it will be kind of nice. I feel I might have finished a little higher at Evian, but I’m in good form and I like playing at Sunningdale. It's a lovely course.”
