Couple charged after Dover stabbing

A man and a woman have appeared in court following a stabbing incident in Dover.

Officers were called to an address in Coombe Valley Road, Dover just before 4.30pm on Thursday following reports two men were fighting and one of them had received a stab wound.

A 38-year-old man was taken to the William Harvey Hospital where he was said to be in a stable condition. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.

Coombe Valley Road was closed between London Road and Edgar Road for just over an hour as a precaution while police officers conducted their enquiries and to allow forensic officers to start their investigation.

Mustapha Bello, 24, and Donna Coates, 22, of Coombe Valley Road were arrested and charged with wounding with intent.

They appeared in court on Saturday when Bello was remanded in custody and Coates was remanded on conditional bail until Wednesday.

Police have spoken to a number of witnesses but anyone with information is asked to contact DC Heather Moore from the area major enquiry team on 01304 240055.
