Singer Joss Stone returned to her Kent roots on Wednesday night to give a concert hundreds will remember.

Tickets for the gig in her home town of Dover sold out within hours of going on sale and Joss, who was born at the town's Buckland Hospital, didn't disappoint.

The 21-year-old was fulfilling a promise she had made some time ago to stage a concert in Dover where she spent the first eight years of her life.

Her set of some of her most popular hits, as well as new songs from her yet-to-be released album, lasted for well over an hour at the Town Hall.

Joss said she was delighted to be back in Dover.

Among those at the concert were relatives - including her grandparents - and friends, who watched from a special VIP area of the hall

On Thursday she gave another concert at the Castle Community College in Deal.
