Kevin Chapman charged after burglaries in Dour Street and Johannesburg Road, Dover

A man has been charged after jewellery and electronic equipment was stolen from two homes.

A laptop, a tablet computer, a mobile phone, jewellery and other items had been stolen in Dour Street, Dover, on Monday, December 30.

Then, on Wednesday, January 8, a woman reported that a tablet computer, three watches and a number of items of jewellery had been taken from her home.

This was at Johannesburg Road, Buckland.

Chapman, Carnoustie Close, St Leonards-on-Sea, was arrested in Hastings and charged with both break-ins.

He was also charged with making off without payment from a hotel in Dover on Tuesday, January 7, and from a hotel in Canterbury two days later.

Chapman appeared before Medway Magistrates Court yesterday and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance on March 16.
