One man has been killed and three people injured in a serious crash.

Police are investigating, while a man has been arrested following the late-night collision on the A2 in Dover.

Just before 1am this morning, a black Seat taxi was travelling on Jubilee Way, away from the port, when it was involved in a collision with a grey Range Rover travelling in the opposite direction.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 1.20am. The road was closed in both directions between the A20 at the Eastern Docks roundabout and the A258 at St Margaret's At Cliffe / Deal Roundabout.

A man in his 50s sustained serious injuries, and was tragically confirmed dead at the scene.

A further three people were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

The northbound carriageway of the A2 has since been reopened, but the southbound stretch remains closed for ongoing investigation works.
