Motorcyclist taken to Kings College Hospital, London, with serious leg injuries following Citadel Road collision

A 48-year-old man crashed his motorbike into a lamppost in Citadel Road on Sunday night and is suffering from serious injuries.

Two ambulances and two cars were at the scene, on the Western Heights, along with the police at 7.50pm.

The motorcyclist sustained a leg fracture, and injuries to his hand and pelvis. He was fully conscious but taken to Kings College Hospital in London as a priority.

Additional paramedics boarded the ambulance on the way to Kings to treat the patient.

It is believed his injuries were not life threatening.

A Secamb spokesman said: “He was fully conscious but in significant pain and with a bad hand injury.”
