Police hunt two men after assault on three teenage girls in Coombe Valley Road, Dover

Police are hunting two men who followed three young girls and pushed them in their chests in a "frightening and unprovoked" attack.

The girls were sitting on a wall in Coombe Valley Road, Dover, when they were approached by the pair.

Feeling uncomfortable, they got up and sat on another wall across the road towards the Buckland Hospital.

But the men - aged in their 30s and 40s - followed them and starting pushing them against their chests.

The girls left and stopped outside a nearby shop, but the men tried to approach them again.

A passerby then intervened and the men briefly left, but returned shortly after and tried to grab one of the girls by the arm.

They then went into the shop to ask for help and the police were called.

The incident happened at about 4.40pm on Sunday, September 14.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Boswell said: "This was an unprovoked and frightening incident in which teenage girls were approached repeatedly and assaulted by two older men.

"We want to thank the member of the public who intervened and ask that any witnesses to this incident get in touch."

The first suspect was described as white, between 40 and 50 years old, fat, with short dark brown hair, clean-shaven, and was wearing a black jacket and blue top.

The second suspect was white, aged 35 to 40 years old, of medium build with short dark brown hair, clean shaven and was wearing a scruffy dark grey jumper and black bottoms.
