A Channel swim for a young woman who took her own life will happen early tomorrow morning.

This is in memory of one of the group, Megan Forbes, and this venture is to raise money for a suicide prevention charity.

Ms Forbes, 28, of River, Dover, died in January.

She was an award-winning Channel Swimmer.

She was a Junior Champion of Champions in the British Long Distance Swimming Assocation event, which is held at Dover Harbour.

Tomorrow's participants are from Eltham Swimming Club in south London, which Ms Forbes joined when she worked in the area.

Proceeds go to Papyrus UK, the UK charity for the prevention of suicide among the young.

By today the event raised £3,026.52 out of a target of £4,000.
