Dover 2 Bromley 3 - match report

Ricky Miller scored twice as 10-man Dover ended 2015 on a low note with a second home defeat of the season against Kent rivals Bromley, who won for the first time since October, halting their recent poor run.

They played all but the opening 29 minutes a man short after Stefan Payne was sent off - shown a straight red.

Payne was dismissed for the second time this season after tangling with Bromley midfielder Lee Minshull, his second dismissal this season, and now faces the prospect of a four game ban.

Miller's double puts him on 10 for the season and it was he and Adam Cunnington's first goal of the season for Bromley who made it 1-1 at half-time.

However Dover were undone twice from corners in the second half.

Defender Jack Holland put the visitors ahead after 65 minutes.

He reacted first, stabbing the ball home as a corner fell to him two yards out.

Ricky Modeste had gone close twice before Miller made it 2-2 six minutes later.

Nicky Deverdics' free-kick was nodded down for the unmarked Dover man to rifle home.

However Bromley went in front again - sub Reece Prestedge heading in another corner with

his first touch, 11 minutes from time to complete Bromley's first win since October.

Shaun Raggett went close twice late-on before he led the protests for a late penalty but they fell on deaf ears.

Earlier Miller gave Dover the perfect start after eight minutes with his ninth goal of the season.

He punished indecision at the back, before chipping the ball over Alan Julian, as the Bromley keeper came off his line.

Deverdics, skippering the side in place of Jamie Grimes who started on the bench almost set up a second just before the half hour.

He played a short corner, got the ball back and delivered a deep cross to the far post, but Aswad Thomas headed wide.

Two minutes later Dover were down to 10-men.

The official wasted no time in delivering the punishment - some observers suggesting Payne kicked out at the Bromley midfielder.

Miller then looked to be held off by Jack Holland on the edge of the box, but nothing was given and then Modeste looked for a penalty after falling over the visiting defender.

Cunnington then put Bromley level eight minutes before the interval.

Andy Rafferty saved well from Moses Emmanuel, but Cunnington made no mistake, his first for the Hayes Lane club, since moving from Ebbsfleet.
