DOVER Athletic midfielder Dale Skelton has left the club by mutual consent after failing to cement a place in Clive Walker's first team.

Skelton has joined Kent League side Hythe Town after finding his opportunities limited since progressing through the youth system at Crabble.

Whites chairman Jim Parmenter told the club's official website: "It was decided by both parties that it would be better for his career to leave.

"We agreed it mutually and we wish him every luck at Hythe. His chances of realistically holding down a place in the first team were slim."
