Whites board consider manager's future

UNDER PRESSURE: Clive Walker
UNDER PRESSURE: Clive Walker

ANOTHER heartbreaking play-off defeat has left the Dover Athletic board considering a change of management.

Tuesday's semi-final reverse against Hastings at Crabble means two consecutive seasons of failure for a club that was targeting double promotion.

Those fans who have spent much of the past 18 months baying for manager Clive Walker's head will now expect the scalp to be delivered up. With Walker now out of contract, the board will now decide his future.

Chairman Jim Parmenter said: "We have already decided that we need a stronger team structure in place in terms of managing the playing side. Whether that team will include the current manager is a matter for board discussion."
