Whites still to appoint team coaches

THE guessing game as to who will become Dover Athletic's first and reserve team coaches for next season goes on.

Club chairman Mick Kemp hoped to to make an announcement last weekend but his plans fell through when the person he had lined up for one of the posts changed his mind at the last minute.

Kemp said: "A meeting last week didn't go as planned. The guy I wanted felt he wasn't able to give the sort of time to the club we require because of his family commitments."

So it was back to the drawing board for the chairman who seems likely to become Whites' new part-time chief executive under the club's coaching and administrative shake-up.

But he stressed: "I have got somebody else in mind, and I am hoping to have a meeting with him as soon. I am confident that we will get our man this time, but I have been in business long enough to know that you don't go shouting your mouth off until everything is signed and sealed.

"What happened last week was a good example. Everything looked fine until the last minute."

Speculation will continue while the uncertainty remains, with various names mentioned on the grapevine regarding the first team post, currently held by Richard Langley.
