Lewis Shaw from Ashford charged with attempted murder after serious assault in Larksfield Road, Faversham

A man has been charged with attempted murder and possessing a blade in a public place following a serious assault.

Police were called to Larkfield Road in Faversham at about 4.26am on Saturday, March 16, after a man in his 40s suffered head injuries in an attack.

The victim was taken to a London hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

Officers attended the scene and following a number of enquiries, Lewis Shaw was arrested on Saturday.

The 27-year-old of Essella Road, Ashford, was subsequently charged with attempted murder, two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in public place, possession of a bladed article in a public place, criminal damage and a public order offence.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates Court today where he was remanded in custody to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on April 23.
