Young man killed in 3-car smash

A 23-year-old motorist died when he was involved in a three-vehicle crash.

The victim was at the wheel of a Peugeot 106 travelling on the A251 towards Faversham when the tragedy happened.

His car was involved in a collision with a Suzuki Vitara and a VW Passatt, both travelling towards Ashford. The collision happened shortly after the roundabout at Challock at about 11.50am on Tuesday.

Police say the driver of the Peugeot came from Faversham. He died at the scene.

The driver of the Suzuki Vitara, a Herne Bay man in his 40s, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford with minor cuts.

The driver of the VW Passatt, a Chatham woman in her 30s, was not injured.

The Serious Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and the road was reopened shortly after 4pm.
