Police appeal after a woman was mugged when walking home

An appeal has been made for witnesses after a woman was pushed to the ground and mugged.

It happened on Friday, September 9 in St Michael's Street in Folkestone between 8pm and 9pm.

She had her handbag stolen which contained cash, bank cards and a purse.

The purse had an image of two dogs on the front and a cream lining with hearts printed on the lining.

The police appeal, released four weeks after the incident, said the victim was walking home when it happened.

The man approached her from behind.

The man is said to have snatched her phone and handbag and pushed the victim to the ground.

He then ran off in the direction of nearby Dover Road.

The victim suffered a cut to her left eyebrow and cuts to her knee, but did not require hospital treatment.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident, including reviewing any potential CCTV opportunities and conducting house to house enquiries.

Members of the public who may have information are now being asked to come forward

The suspect is described as being a man, tall and of slim build. He was wearing a light grey or white hooded top.

The items reported stolen from the victim include a blue Samsung Galaxy S6 phone and a black Radley handbag.
