Crash between double decker bus and car prompts appeal for more information

Six people were injured after a crash on a main road between a double decker bus and a BMW car.

The smash happened on the A260, Canterbury Road in Hawkinge, at about 1pm on Saturday and now police are appealing for witnesses.

The road at the top of White Horse Hill was closed for hours while the debris was cleared and bus passengers were treated at the scene.

The closure was extended into Canterbury Road in Hawkinge at the junction of Harvest Way.

A police spokesman said: "Two people were taken to hospital as a precaution, and a further four people were treated at the scene.

"The road was closed for a short time in order to recover the vehicles.

"Inquiries are ongoing and police have asked that anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to an officer, to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting 10-0673."
