Twelve cars' tyres slashed in one night in Folkestone

Car owners have been warned to be vigilant after 12 cars are thought to have had their tyres slashed in a single night.

Police believe the vandalism spree happened in the space of seven hours between midnight on Thursday, July 19, and 7am on Friday, July 20.

Reports have come from the areas of Athelstan Road and Walton Manor Close.

Officers say they are now warning drivers about the recent spike in reports of this type of vandalism.

A spokesman said: "Residents are being urged to remain vigilant whilst officers carry out their inquiries and establish whether any other vehicles have been affected in the local area."

Anyone who witnessed any of the incidents, or saw anything suspicious, is asked to call police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 20-0238.
