Folkestone are hammered by Horsham

Folkestone Rugby Club 1st XV went into Saturday's league match at Horsham with a weakened team and paid the penalty as they slid to a 41-10 defeat.

Horsham raced into a 14-0 through two converted tries before Folkestone pulled three points back before half-time with a penalty.

Early in the second half Stones' supporters knew it wasn't their day when a Horsham player launched a massive crossfield kick from one wing to the other. Folkestone winger, Ben Brooks looked to have it under control, but the ball took a horrendous bounce straight into the hands of the Horsham right winger and another converted try followed for 21-3.

Dave Baxter, Folkestone's man of the match, then went over for a try converted by Seyhan Fell, but this was Horsham's day and they added three more tries and a penalty before the finish.
