Folkestone Invicta's Roland Edge looks ahead to Isthmian Premier trip to Lewes

Roland Edge says Folkestone tonight will not be underestimating Lewes.

Invicta, languishing in 17th in Isthmian Premier, will aim to bounce back from their 3-0 weekend loss at Haringey when they head to East Sussex.

But having come seventh last term, Tony Russell’s men are only four points better off than Invicta in 12th - themselves finding life tougher this campaign - and they were thrashed last month 4-1 at second-bottom Herne Bay, who saw Ben Smith stand down as their boss on Saturday.

“It’s going to be a tough game,” said former Gillingham and Maidstone defender Edge, in charge of Folkestone alongside Micheal Everitt. “They play some good football.

“Like us, they probably feel like they should be in a better position in the table.

"But we have definitely got to start games better.”

Edge says Folkestone’s squad is now almost at full strength, with frontman Ira Jackson coming off the bench at Haringey while right-back Josh Vincent is back from injury too.
