A2 queues after lorry spills its load

A LORRY has shed its load on the A2 causing heavy traffic on the coastbound road.

The lorry, which was carrying soil, collided with the central reservation and spilt its load at 12.20pm, just before the new Gravesend junction.

Lanes two and three have been closed to allow the Highways Agency to clear the scene and recover the lorry.

A spokesman said: "There is a fair amount of clear up to do and it's unclear how long it will take at present.

"We are advising drivers to avoid the area."
