Dash-cam footage sought after woman 'loses memory' following bike crash on A2 near Cobham

Help is needed to piece together the circumstances surrounding a hit-and-run on the A2 which saw a motorcyclist "lose her memory".

Jade Nicholson was driving London-bound around the Cobham area earlier this month when a light blue Transit van hit her, knocking her off her red Honda into the back of another car.

The 33-year-old suffered minor head injuries and was taken to hospital.

She says she can't remember anything clearly from the accident, which happened at 7am near the Bean Interchange and caused long delays.

"I felt like I was hit with a sledgehammer," the Chattenden resident said.

The van, which failed to stop, is understood to have collided with the motorcyclist in the fourth lane of the carriageway.

Officers from Kent Police’s roads policing unit are urging witnesses or anyone with footage to come forward.

Ms Nicholson, who works in Dartford, says she struggled to recall to police what happened at the time

"I couldn't tell them anything," she said.

"It was just a case of me reporting an accident but not being able to tell them the who, what, where and why.

"I didn't even know it happened until I saw kmfm's post and realised it was my bike. I've completely blacked out all information.

The motorcyclist said all she remembers was a "blue van sliding from the third lane to the fourth lane straight into me".

She added: "Apparently he did stop initially and someone went to talk to him and when he saw me trying to get up he got back in and drove away."

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Paul Dearing via the appeal number 01474 366149 quoting reference 04-0182.
