Breaking news: Two men arrested after 16-year-old girl stabbed

TWO men are being questioned by police following a stabbing in Northfleet last night.

The men, aged 24 and 28, from the Gravesend area, were arrested on suspicion of wounding shortly after the incident in Park Avenue, Northfleet at 11.20pm yesterday.

The victim, a 16-year-old young woman from the Meopham area, was taken to hospital for treatment to wounds to her neck. Her injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Police in North Kent are appealing for information about the incident. Detective Inspector Andy Short is leading the investigation. He said: "This was not a random attack and appears to have escalated from an earlier disagreement."
