Lauren Lethbridge, from Gravesend’s Meapa Gymnastics Club, retained her British Gymnastics Junior GMPD (Gymnastics and Movement for People with a Disability) title in the British Championships at Newcastle.

The 13-year-old (pictured), who recently attended a Great Britain squad training camp in Berlin, competed against the UK’s best under-16 gymnasts. She made a clean sweep of her competition, winning the overall title and claiming four individual gold medals on bars, beam, floor and vault.

The Invicta Grammar School pupil was also presented with a silver salver for achieving the highest women’s score of the day.

Pauline Wilson, Lauren’s coach at the Meapa club, said: "Lauren’s achievement in winning the British title for the second time is outstanding.

"However, it’s nothing more than she deserves as she has worked incredibly hard over the last 12 months, putting in long hours of training at the gym.

"We are all extremely proud of her."
