A 56-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman were arrested in connection with immigration offences and passed to the Home Office, and checks by immigration officers confirmed both the man and woman had overstayed their visas.

The man has been transferred to immigration detention pending removal from the UK, while the woman must report to Immigration Enforcement regularly while her case is progressed.

Residents in the street say there were reports of a brothel operating at the address, but police were unable to confirm the nature of the "suspicious activity" reported.

One residents said: "Someone that lives the other side kept getting men knocking on her door and it just clicked what's going on.

"While the police were there a guy knocked on the door and they took him away too."
