Ebbsfleet squeezed through to the third qualifying round of the FA Cup despite losing a two-goal half-time lead and missing a penalty against 10-man Cray Wanderers on Tuesday.

Michael West and new boy Gareth Williams, his first for the club, had given Fleet the perfect platform.

But Steve Lozano pulled one back four minutes after the break and substitute Leigh Bremner headed Cray level on 69 minutes.

Sixty seconds later Cray’s Carl Gibbs was sent-off after felling Phipps in the area, only for West to blast the spot-kick too high.

However, Calum Willock (pictured) held his nerve, controlling Craig Stone’s pass to make it 3-2 after 75 minutes, and substitute Ricky Shakes added the fourth in stoppage time to see Fleet through, and a trip to Ryman League Division 1 North pacesetters Needham Market.
