Ebbsfleet United have decided to release defender Dean Pooley.

The 22-year-old Sidcup-born former Millwall defender (pictured), joined the Fleet in August 2008, and made a total of 78 appearances.

Fleet boss Liam Daish said: "Dean is a good lad, and been a good servant, but we are in a different league and I have decided to go in a different direction next season.

Striker Gareth Williams and Aiden Sherlock have also been released, but striker Jacob Erskine has been offered the chance to return in pre-season and prove his fitness.

Scott Ginty and Giannoulis Fakinos were two of five players who committed themselves to the club last week, together with defenders Joe Howe, Derek Duncan and striker Ricky Shakes.

Daish said: "Scott is hopefully over his injury problems, but needs a strong pre-season, while it could be a big year for Giannoulis."
