Firefighters battle disused pub blaze

A DERELICT pub went up in flames and it took six fire pumps more than five hours to put out the blaze.

Neighbours of the Prince of Wales pub on Milton Road, Gravesend called Thames-side fire station at 2am Monday to report smoke pouring from the windows of the empty building.

More than 30 firefighters from Dartford, Swanscombe, Strood and Hoo were called in to assist and the fire was finally brought under control at 7.30am.
