Small fire in electrical cupboard at Gravesend flats sparks emergency response

Three fire crews were called to flats in Gravesend early this morning after a resident discovered smoke billowing into a communal area.

Firefighters arrived at the block in Homemead Close at 1.20am and discovered the source of the smoke was a small electrical blaze in a cupboard.

Wiring had melted and after it was determined the fire had not spread crews passed care over to UK Power Networks and left the address shortly before 3am.
