Investigation after woman's body is found

KENT Police are carrying out an investigation after a woman's body was discovered in suspicious circumstances at a home on an estate.

Police cordoned off a large section of Palmer Avenue on the Kings Farm estate at Gravesend. The woman has been named locally as Tina McSwiggan who was 52.

A post-mortem examination has been carried after the body was found in the early hours of Monday but detectives say the results were inconclusive.

A police spokesman said: "Anyone who saw anything suspicious in Palmer Avenue and Hawkins Avenue between 10pm on Sunday, and 4am on Monday, should contact police on 01474 565091.”

* A 50-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death and has been granted police bail pending further inquiries.
