Liam Daish has demanded his side show their ruthless streak more often.

The Ebbsfleet manager feels the team’s goals-per-chances ratio is lower than it should be and it’s a factor he feels is holding them back.

He said: "I don’t want to be over critical but this season the one thing that has let us down has been the finishing. We could have made life a lot easier for ourselves by finishing teams off."

Fleet had numerous chances last weekend at Droylsden but were unable to convert and were knocked out of the FA Trophy.

"You can go right back to the start of the season against Maidenhead where we didn’t take our chances," added Daish.

"We should be putting teams to the sword. For all of the hard work and good play, we need to be more cutting and ruthless in that last bit. We’re letting teams off the hook."

Daish has recently captured loanees Conor Okus and Ryan Blake, who have added balance to the left side and now wants extra options in attack.

"The one area now I need to strengthen is up front," he said.

"There is a possibility I could bring someone in within our budget but the problem is that there aren’t many goal-scoring centre forwards about."
