DETECTIVES are today investigating the death of a 31-year-old man following a stabbing incident at Gordon Promenade in Gravesend.

Police officers were called to Gordon Park last night after a report that three men, all described as Asian, were fighting.

They arrived shortly after 8.15pm to find the man lying at the entrance to the park with knife wounds and other serious injuries.

The man was taken to Darent Valley Hospital in Dartford but he died at about 9.20pm.

The police are treating his death as suspicious and are appealing to witnesses.

Senior investigating officer, Det Chief Insp Dean Barnes, said: “This happened in broad daylight near a park where families were enjoying a summer evening.

“We believe the incident must have been witnessed by a number of people and we would urge them to contact the incident room on 01622 654850.
