A 34-year-old man has appeared before magistrates at Gravesend on four rape charges.

Daniel Owen, of Valley Drive, Gravesend, is also charged with four counts of false imprisonment, one aggravated burglary, two charges of indecent assault on young men, two charges of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

Mr Owen spoke only to confirm his name, age, and address when he appeared in the dock. Bail was not sought by defence solicitor Farrukh Sherwani.

The magistrates sent the case to Maidstone Crown Court for pleas to be entered on Tuesday (August 26).
