A man flagged down a woman in her car, tried to grab her bag and punched her in the face.

The victim, in her 40s, was leaving Sainsbury’s Pepper Hill store in Northfleet in her grey Toyota Avensis on Monday (June 13) at about 8pm.

A man, thought to be in his 20s, flagged her down just before the Hall Road roundabout.

She wound down her window and asked for directions before making a grab for her handbag on the passenger seat.

It fell into the foot well and the man, who was about 5ft 6in tall, then punched the woman in the face.

The man, who was slim, had short hair and wore a dark jacket with trainers, left empty handed. The woman suffered cuts and bruises.
